Glenthorne House is within an area of outstanding natural beauty in the coastal town of Salcombe in the South Hams area of South Devon.
The house itself was built in approximately 1895 and flat 3 fully refurbished in the winter of 2019. It is a modern and light space with a large estuary facing balcony that has amazing views to the town and harbour area.
The flat is in the centre with easy access to the town and beautiful beaches. The beaches are in walking distance or a ferry ride. There are a range of water sports available to try; sailing, paddle boarding and sea kayaking. A number of ferries go from Salcombe to beaches (South Sands and East Portlemouth) and the town of Kingsbridge. There are a number of pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance, with local seafood and produce.
Salcombe has a range of shops including local crafts and Art and the Salcombe Gin distillery.
Within easy reach by road are a number of towns; Totnes, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth as well as Modbury.
Close to the house is a park with excellent playground facilities for children and somewhere to take the dog. As well as the park there are some beautiful country walks whether to Batson Creek and round to Start Point or to Gara Rock beyond East Portlemouth.
Nearby is the National Trust House; Overbecks, just beyond South Sands. Other National Trust Houses nearby include Coleton Fishacre near Kingswear, Greenway near Dartmouth, which can be reached by steam train from Kingswear, and Saltram near Plymouth.
